Mike and Mary Jo Murphy both grew up in Catskill, started dating while attending Catskill High School, then married shortly after graduating college. Mike and Mary Jo have two children and three grandchildren, truly the love of their lives.

Mike worked for a large corporation most of his career, always dreaming of one day taking his passion for woodworking and opening a woodworking business. Mary Jo is a school nurse, but is truly a partner not only in life but at Catskill Mountain Woodworking.

Catskill Mountain Woodworking started in 2020 at a local flea market & then farmers markets! We shared a space on Main Street in two locations from October 2020 until this June, when we opened here at 431 Main, after Mike completed renovations to the space that had been vacant for about 20 years! We still attend a local farmers market as well as juried crafts fairs throughout the northeast.
